A video and audio recording production with three sellers, from inquiry to wrap

Dev filmed a podcast episode with a videographer, a sound recordist and an audio editor from three sellers, in one project. Every step from the first inquiry to the last review.

A videographer filming on set

A filmed podcast needs picture, sound and an edit, and they rarely come from one person. On CIRI they sit in one project: one brief, one inquiry, a quote from each seller, and each seller paid once.

Scenario

Dev hosts a business podcast and wants a filmed episode: two cameras, clean sound and an edit ready for YouTube and audio platforms.

1. Build the project

Dev adds each service from Browse with Add to project, or from a seller's profile, on their Services tab. His draft project groups the items by seller and shows each seller's total.

Every service needs a production date and time. The times on offer are only those where the whole service fits in that seller's calendar, and a time someone else has already paid for is never offered.

The estimate includes CIRI's 12% client service fee. Nothing is taken now.

2. Send one inquiry

Dev names the project, writes what he needs, and presses Send project inquiry. It goes to all three sellers at once. To send, a project needs a name, a brief and a date and time on every service. Sending reserves nothing yet.

3. Each seller quotes their own items

A quote is an itemised list and can't be changed once sent. Dev presses Accept quote on each one.

4. Pay each seller once

Under Pay for your bookings there is a card for each seller: the agreed price, CIRI's 12% service fee, and optional Security Protection (£7.99) and Priority Support (£4.99) for that seller's work. Dev presses Pay on each. Each seller is paid separately, in full, for exactly what was agreed, and their time is booked when the payment goes through.

5. Recording day and delivery

On the day, each seller presses Start work. Afterwards they Submit delivery with their files: the videographer the camera files, the recordist the multitrack audio, the editor the finished mix.

For each delivery Dev chooses Approve delivery or Request revision. If he does nothing, an item completes on its own 72 hours after it was delivered. Items complete one at a time: the edit can still be in revision while the camera work is done.

6. Talking to everyone

The Messages tab has one thread with everyone on the project, and Dev can message one seller directly. The recordist and editor agree file formats in their own thread.

7. Reviews

Dev reviews each item as soon as it completes, from 1 to 5 stars. He doesn't wait for the others to finish.

Put it together as one project.

Add the people, the space and the gear, send one inquiry, and pay each seller once.
